Well, I figure this is the best way to keep everyone up to date on what crazy adventures I'm on now! I'll be adding pictures and info occasionally during my trip, so check back often. The trip down was without problems and the weather has been great since I got here. My friend Van said I must have brought it with me, cause the weather was really bad in the weeks before I arrived.

Today I decided to go on a moped adventure on the island. The scooter I have is a PUCH that is a piece of work to say the least ! Well, I got carried away and ended up riding about 80 miles! Several of the pictures below show what I saw. Beautiful country, but my butt sure did hurt by the end of day !

Today I decided to test out the underwater housing for my new Pentax Optio 430RS. I went off West End beach about 100 yards out to some coral formations that were pretty cool. The housing worked well until about a half hour into the snorkel, then I noticed some condensation on the inner surface of the lens, so it was time to head back ! I still don't know what caused that, but hopefully it won't happen again. Anyway, I took some really cool pictures shown below.

After being out a bit late last night, things are moving a little slow today ! An interesting observation on taxis - last night cost me 110 limpiras (about $6) for a taxi home from West End and today cost 10 limpiras for same ride! Anyway a good deal considering I'm not doing a 7 mile scooter ride in the dark! Below is a picture looking out the balcony of where I'm staying in Sandy Bay.

I snapped the picture below at the Twisted Parrot bar. We have been spending too many happy hours in there ! The guy on left is Mark, bartender is Mike and right guy is Van. Mark and Mike work for Van and will be watching the rental business while we're in Guanaja next week. I'm gonna do some exploring tomorrow, so I should have some new pictures then. Also, the internet place is closed on Sundays, so the page will be updated on Monday.

NOTE - Brians' computer won't allow me to edit photos, so they will be posted when I get back to Roatan.

Van headed out early this morning since he had to do some business on the mainland. He then is meeting me at the airport in Guanaja where we'll take a water taxi to my buddy Brians' End Of The World Resort.
My flight was late as they usually are here, so I landed in Guanaja around 11:30am and Van already had a Cervesa (beer) waiting! We caught a water taxi to the resort and met up with Brian. Lots of catching up to do and loads of crazy Key West stories (some may have been exaggerated a bit) late into the night!
The cabana I'm staying in is really cool, but a climb! Lots of steps up the hill will work some of those cervesas off for sure ! Weather has been great and we're going diving tomorrow.
Feb 13th
Van headed back to Roatan today. Who knows when I'll head back there! Most likely late next week, since Guanaja has been such a great trip so far!
Feb 14th
We headed out this morning for a great dive on the reef. Went down to 120 feet and some cool sites and big fish there! Didn't take my camera today but will be getting some shots tomorrow.
Feb 15th
We did a two tank dive and saw some great sights on the reef. Can't wait to get some of these Guanaja pictures on!
Another interesting note - I also was put in charge of teaching Brians' girlfriend Cecelia to drive the boat! Interesting proposition considering her English isn't good and my Espanol is even worse! We made it back to the dock ok though without having to be rescued!
Feb 16th
Taking it easy today after doing two dives yesterday. Did some snorkeling this morning and saw an octopus that was pretty cool. We'll be doing another dive tomorrow as well as a possible night dive.
Feb 18th
Well, yesterday sucked! Rain all day and big waves! Guess you have to have rain at some point! Anyway, went out with Brian and the divers today, but pretty rough. Not much to see on the reef in those conditions. Hopefully better tomorrow. I'm tentatively planning to fly back to Roatan on Thursday, so pictures should be on after that. Time for a cervesa! Adios!!
Feb 20th
Well, it's Thursday afternoon and I'm still at Brians! He talked me into staying until tomorrow (he didn't have to work too hard at it). We did two dives this morning and are doing a night dive tonight, so that should be pretty cool. Got some really good underwater shots today too!
Due to the fact that Brian wants to buy my camera, I may not be able to post my Guanaja pictures until I return to the states. If I can figure out a way to get them off the flash card when I get to Roatan, I'll get them on sooner. Also, Brian's computer is acting up when I try to check AOL e-mail, so I'll have to check it tomorrow night or Sat morning. If anyone is trying to send me an important message, go to the End Of The World Resort site and email Brian. He'll get the message to me.
Feb 21st
Well, I finally made it back to Roatan! I bet some of you thought I was in Guanaja for good!! Anyway, I don't think I'm going to be able to get the pictures off my card from my (Brians now) camera until I get back home. As soon as I do, I'll post the pictures on the site.
We had a good night dive last night with the exception of the weather. Wind kicked up and pretty rough out. We were going to have a fire on the beach after dinner, but thought we might burn down the island so called that one off!!
Anyway, going to prepare to get out of town tomorrow and have to head to airport at 7:30 Sunday morning. Most of you may think this is impossible for me, but believe it or not, I've been getting up at or before 8 every morning and in bed by 10pm!
Maybe one more update to the page tomorrow and the pictures should be up on Monday evening. Happy hour calls... Gotta go !!
Feb 24th
Left Honduras yesterday morning and sat through my 5 hour Miami layover. After a long day, arrived in Columbus to snow I didn't want to see!! Anyway, today I was going to add the pictures of the Guanaja part of the trip, but am having problems with my home phone line and keep getting kicked off. As soon as phone co fixes, I'll get those pics on asap. Cold weather sucks!!!
